Can someone younger than 55 live with me?

Yes, as long as one resident of your home is 55 or older.

How do you check age?

When you apply, the resident who is 55 or older shows a photo ID with their date of birth. We update our records every two years, as federal rules for 55+ communities require.

Services and amenities

Is there care or medical staff on site?

No. The Wren is apartments for rent, and the rent doesn't include meals, care or medical staff. You're welcome to bring in your own home-care provider, and housekeeping is available by the visit.

How is The Wren different from senior living?

Senior living and independent living communities usually include meals and services in one monthly fee. At The Wren you rent an apartment on an ordinary lease and choose what else you want.

Who plans the events?

Marcus, our lifestyle director, plans the calendar with residents: clubs, classes, outings and dinners. Most are free; an outing's cost is on the calendar.

Yes. Guests of any age are welcome to visit and stay over. Book the guest suite at the office for $75 a night.

Moving in

I'm still selling my house. Can I hold a home?

Yes. Sign now and we'll hold your home for up to 60 days, rent-free, while you sell. Your lease starts the day the sale closes, or on day 60.

Can you help with the move?

We'll give you your plan drawn to scale for placing furniture, and the names of local move managers who help people move from a house.

Pets

Can I bring my pet?

Yes, up to two cats or dogs per home: a $300 refundable deposit and $35 a month for each. Assistance animals aren't pets: there's no deposit, fee or rent for one.

Parking

Where do I park?

Open parking is free. Covered parking is $40 a month and a private garage $150 a month.

Our own maintenance team, on site Monday to Saturday, with emergencies answered 24 hours a day.
