Our goal
Aldermoor Residential aims for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, so it can be read without glasses, used with a screen reader or a keyboard, zoomed, and used on a phone.
What we've done
- Large type: running text is 19 pixels, and nothing on the site is smaller than 16, labels and captions included.
- Strong contrast: every text colour is at least 7 to 1 against its background, well above the 4.5 to 1 the guidelines ask for. No grey text on grey.
- Underlined links, so you can tell a link without seeing its colour.
- Buttons that say in words what they do, never an icon alone, and a name above every form field that stays when you type.
- Large targets: buttons at least 52 pixels tall and form fields at least 56, easy to tap and to click.
- Pages that work at 200% browser zoom, and on a phone, without losing anything or scrolling sideways.
- Nothing moves on its own: no slideshows, no videos that play by themselves, no animation.
- Every link, button and field within reach of the keyboard, with a thick focus ring you can see, and a link at the top to skip to the main content.
- A description of every picture and floor plan drawing, and prices, fees, hours and events written as text, never as pictures.
What we know falls short
- No outside audit yet: we checked the site ourselves, page by page, on a computer and a phone, and fix what we find.
- Maps are pictures of the streets. The address, the directions and the distances to places nearby are written beside them as text.
- The pictures are generated samples, not photographs of the real building and homes. Each one's description says what it shows.
Report a barrier
If something on this site gets in your way, tell us the page and what happened: call (303) 555-0164, email hello@wrenclearcreek.example or tell the office. We'll get you the information another way while we fix it.
Ask for a reasonable accommodation
If a disability means you need a change to a rule, a policy or a service, or a change to your home, you can ask for a reasonable accommodation or modification.
Tell the office in person, by phone or by email, at any time. There's no form you have to use and no fee.
No deposit, fee or rent for an assistance animal.
